Necklace and pendant - Silver - Poids : 180 grs - "cadenas" Hmong - Golden Triangle - Very early twentieth
DESCRIPTION: Imposing padlock-shaped pendant attached to a large neck chain, made of silver. These ‘padlocks’ were used by the Hmong people during the temple ceremonies of the soul, they were used to ‘lock’ the soul in the patient's body. Pendant size: Height: 8. 3 cm - Width: 8. 6 cm. Size including chain: 44 cm. Weight: 180 g. CARNET DE VOYAGE DE J. DUMOULIN: I do not know the country of origin of this necklace, only the ethnic group from which it comes, the Hmong people, I purchased it in the 1990's in Bangkok, from a merchant of the Chatuchak market, specialized in ancient ethnic jewellery. Condition: In good condition but with some use marks (check pictures) . The chain is probably more recent than the pendant. This type of truly old pendant has become almost unobtainable in Asia. Carefully packed and insured shipment via Bpost with track && trace.
