North Carolina Jamestown School Percussion Rifle
possibly William Lamb or Jabez Stephens, mid 1800's, 47-1/2 in. octagonal barrel, maple half stock, silver or brass strip inlay on barrel inscribed "F.H. Akins", various strips of silver or brass inlay to top three sides of barrel from back to muzzle, stock with silver engraved patch box and finial, cheek rest side of stock with several inset silver engraved decorative elements and pick holder, brass butt plate and trigger guard, sidelock with engraving, forend with inset silver elements, engraved rib under barrel with ramrod thimbles and tip, dovetail blade front sight, overall length 63-1/2 in.

Condition Report: severe oxidation and pitting to barrel and lock, non functioning trigger and hammer, cracks to stock around the lock and trigger guard, break to stock at forend, several losses to inset decorative elements and one ramrod thimble, loose triggerguard, loss to section of brass buttstock, possible faint hairline to barrel, heavy wear throughout, converted from flintlock
