GOLD ENGLISH WATCH WITH HARD STONE FOR THE ORIENTAL MARKET, SIGNED GRANTHAM, CIRCA 1770
Gold case decorated with chiseling, engravings with floral motifs and scrolls, bezel and back with zoned agate with brown tones, push-piece for the aperture sets with diamond, back garnished with application in gold, diamonds, emerald and rubies, depicting an exotic garden composed by a palm tree, a fountain and a pagoda. Four sections châtelaine, gilded metal, gold foil frame chiseled and embossed with leaf motifs, hard stone medallions with silver applications set with rubies and emeralds, lateral pendants with key and hard stone seal.
White enamel dial, Roman hour numerals and Arabic 5-min markers with rail track division, winding hole at 3. Fancy hands decorated with paste stones.
Key-Winding fusee movement, gilded and signed "Geo. (George) Grantham”, n. 7561, engraved with floral motifs, baluster pilasters, pierced and engraved cock, verge escapement, silvered register disc with engraved Arabic numerals.
