Beautiful sterling silver oil and vinegar set from the late 18th century/early 19th century. Hallmarks: Cock n°1 and title N°1 1798-1809, guaranty hallmark and silversmith’s hallmark, console table base adorned with winged Sphinxes, this type of decoration was used during the period following Napoleon Bonaparte’s campaign in Egypt. The set is beautifully decorated, beautiful cruets with faceted caps (one of the caps is smaller) everything is in very good condition with a few traces of use.
