"He was a pupil of Saru Spina, in 1928 he moved to Rome and then to Florence where he had the opportunity to come into contact with the most important Italian painters of the period between the two great wars, he was a pupil and assistant to Felice Carena, he met Mario Mafai, his classmate, and Giorgio Morandi from whom he was greatly influenced.His style or various experiences led to a free post-impressionism style from all academic ties. After the Second World War he returned to Catania where he taught at the Academy of Fine Arts. He had considerable success in his city, maintaining a style with a careful attention to reality maintained a naturalistic character with lively but delicate chromatic tones. Important were his participations in the Venice biennials of 1936 and 1950, as well as numerous participations in Roman Quadrennial "STUDIO ASOR
