Rare okimono depicting an elephant balancing on a large ball. Item of great quality, with a perfect anatomical rendering of the animal. In excellent condition overall, with a beautiful natural patina. Minimal wear and tear and veining consistent with age. Signed on the bottom Japanese object from the Meiji period The item was made prior to 1947, and is therefore in compliance with European Union regulations regarding the sale of ivory.
