Okimono of a rat catcher - Ivory - Signed 'Kaho tō' 香峰刀 (carved by Kaho) - Japan - Late 19th century A delicate ivory netsuke okimono of a Pied Piper. By Kuramine, signed after Japan, Meiji period. The Pied Piper is equipped with a large bat and with a hand and a box, pressed in order to catch the escaped rat on its back, which results in a fairly funny expression. After Himotoshi and signed at the bottom of the loincloth KURAMINE. Condition: In very good condition with some expected signs of its age. Compare with a similar netsuke okimono of a Pied Piper by Kihodo Masakaza. Sold in Vienna for €5,256 Weight: 44 g
