The composition depicts the martyrdom of Saint Sebastian, bound to a tree and pierced with arrow shafts, set against a backdrop of a pastoral landscape with a castle looming in the distance. This religious theme, popular during the Renaissance period, is executed with great detail. No apparent signature. Presented in an oval heavily gold gilt frame. Sight size measures approximately 31" x 23".
