An incredibly rare and highly collectable piece of craftsmanship by the premiere Old Sheffield manufactures Matthew Boulton. The meat dome has a inlaid silver shields with a double contemporary coat of arms and is oval shaped in design with a single band of decorative floral and shell for highlights. The handle is acanthus leaf in design. The meat dish mirrors the dome cover in decoration and has a hot water compartment.

Length: 26 inches/66cm

Height: 13 inches/33cm

Condition: Excellent throughout

Note: With out doubt the rarest piece of Matthew Boulton we have ever come across in 50 odd years. The workmanship is very sharp and the quality outstanding. Usually large meat dishes and covers are generally Victorian and more often than not married together later on. This example should be in a Museum. Dare I say it probably the best & rarest example possibly on the planet. So shot me if I am wrong!!!!!
