Omega: An Air Ministry Royal Air Force Pilots Stainless Steel Centre Seconds Wristwatch, signed Omega, issued in 1956, (calibre 30T2) manual wound lever movement signed and numbered 9955622, white/silvered dial with Arabic numerals, blued spade hands, screw back with military markings A.M 6B/159 3768/56, fixed bars between the lugs 36mm wide This Omega military wristwatch was only made in the year of 1956 and issued to officers and pilots. In that year, the British MOD decided to re-case some of the old Second World War Omega watches and re-used the highly regarded and reliable 30T2 movements and re-dialled the watches with black or white dials in their RAF 6B/159 spitfire pilots watches. This watch has the 30T2 calibre movement with the serial number 9955622 dating the movement 1943.
Case with surface scratches, case with minor dents in parts, back cover is some small case opening tool scratches, crown with small dents, later strap and buckle, strap is worn in parts. dial with small staining marks, dial with one visible scratch above 6, hand setting correctly and winding smoothly, movement in going order. We are happy to provide Condition Reports to prospective buyers, but would welcome your request as soon as possible, preferably at least 48 hours before the Day of Sale.
