Spencer Kellogg Jr. was the son of wealthy linseed oilman and philanthropist Spencer Kellogg Sr. Influenced by the arts & crafts movement and endowed with the money to follow his interests, he acquired the hand press of William Morris. Although short-lived, The Aries Press produced several lovely volumes worthy of the tools they were produced with.
