A photograph signed by Nobel Prize-winning German nuclear chemist Otto Hahn (1879-1968), as "Otto Hahn / 1967" along the bottom margin. The black and white photo printed on vintage matte Mimosa Kiel photo paper (stamped verso) shows the acclaimed scientist wearing a three-piece suit a year before his death at the age of 90. Near fine. 2.25" x 4.125."

Otto Hahn won the 1944 Nobel Prize in Chemistry after co-discovering nuclear fission along with fellow German scientist Fritz Strassmann. Hahn, who discovered various radioactive isotopes over his career, worked on the German nuclear weapons program during World War II despite personally disagreeing with Nazi dogma.

The antecedent of the Mimosa photo paper company was first established in 1893, renamed "Mimosa AG" in 1913, and relocated to Kiel in West Germany after 1948.
