Pedro Guerra (also Pedro Guerra Jordan) (Mexican, 1857-1917), "La Iglesia, Chichen Itza" - albumin print, ca. 1909 CE. A wonderful albumin print of the church at Chichen Itza by Pedro Guerra, a pioneer of photography in the Yucatan area of Mexico whose studio was active from the last quarter of the 19th century until 1917 - set in a mat that is features his red studio seal in the lower right corner with "Photografia Guerra Merida Yuc" around an image of a camera. Size (print): 7.6" W x 9.5" H (19.3 cm x 24.1 cm); (backing): 10.75" W x 13.75" H (27.3 cm x 34.9 cm)
