P. Rigual - 'Delirium of Iris' - Large Art Nouveau Vase (64 cm)

Impressive and very large Art Nouveau vase / sculpture (height: 64 cm) . Created by P. Rigual, it is a very emblematic expression of the Art Nouveau style in its representation of the flora, both in the subject (iris, water lilies) and in its very allegorical treatment. This is clearly a major piece. This work is in perfect condition, dressed with a light warm and very bright patina. Here the pewter keeps its own velvety character so seductive because it did not require any restoration because of its high geometric and presentation quality. Individual, collector of Art Nouveau and Art Deco pewter for more than 30 years, I put on sale on Catawiki pieces from my collection (I only sell tins) . I have been committed to build a high quality collection and have had every piece that required it restored by an craftsman (almost all of them) in the course of its acquisition. Pablo Rigual was born in Portugal. A renowned sculptor, he has largely practiced his art in France. The artist and the work (here in its greatest variation) are illustrated in the book of the specialist and great collector Philippe Dahhan "Etains 1900".
