Heading:
Author: Parker
Title: No. 34 Black Hard Rubber Eyedropper Fountain Pen with Sterling Silver Chased Overlay by Heath, Very Rare, In Period Box
Place Published: United States
Publisher:
Date Published: c.1906
Description:

A rare, exceptional and important Parker No. 34 eyedropper-filler fountain pen. Black hard rubber body with chased sterling silver barrel filigree overlay and pierced derby cone-cap top, almost certainly the work of George W. Heath, engraved "PARKER FOUNTAIN PEN / PAT. 6-30-91. 1-3-05." The black hard rubber cap is imprinted with the Lucky Curve banner and June 6, 1905 patent date. 138mm. No. 3 teardrop-vent Lucky Curve nib, slight flex. Very fine to excellent condition, black hard rubber color muted but not oxidized to brown, overlay beautifully and evenly patinated, cartouche not inscribed, imprints lightly rubbed but still rather crisp. Pen comes in period paper-over-boards "The Geo. S. Parker Fountain Pen" box.

A truly uncommon masterwork, there seem to be no auction records for the Parker No. 34, and indeed there are few printed references to be found for the pen, aside from Lambrou's Fountain Pens of the World (pp. 58-59).
