PAUL MOUNT
1922-2009
THE RIVALS

signed on the slate base
stainless steel
height (including base): 42cm.; 16½in.
Conceived in 2008, the present work is unique.

Condition Report:
The sculpture appears sound. There are large pits across the surface of the work in keeping with the Artist's intentions. There are also tiny pits and casting imperfections elsewhere, largely only visible on the highly polished surfaces. There are some minor scratches and scuffs to the surface in places, these are only visible upon close inspection, and in many instances are in keeping with the Artist's working methods. There are some tiny chips, nicks and inconsistencies in the slate base. There is a small area of staining to where the base meets the sculpture on one side. There is some minor surface dirt in some of the pits and a couple of spots elsewhere. There are also some light handling marks. This excepting the work appears to be in very good overall condition.

The sculpture is secured to the Artist's slate base.
