PIERRE LE FAGUAYS WAITING BACCHANTE NUDE DECO BRONZE SCULPTURE
Pierre Le Faguays Bacchante Nude Deco Bronze Sculpture: An important circa 1925. Art Deco bronze sculpture titled 'Waiting Bacchante' by Pierre Le Faguays (born 1892), signed, 'FRANCE' on the left back and 'GUERBE' on the right back, depicting a kneeling a nude female with a stern yet elegant gaze, floral tied back hair complemented by lush floral bouquets flanking either side further accented by a rich verdigris patina, raised on a pink and white veined over black marble base and would make an impressive gift or addition to any fine collection.

Fayral and Guerbe were 2 pseudonyms used by the famous Pierre Le Faguays. Fayral and Guerbe were both the family names for his Mother and his Wife. Le Faguays was born in Nantes, France and became famous for the originality he gave his dancers, many of which were inspired by the statues of Tanagra. He gained a medal of honor for his work in 1927. He was a best friend of Max Le Verrier and the Le Verrier foundry made most of - if not all of his pieces.
