PLEASE NOTE: INTERNET BIDDING FOR THIS LOT IS AVAILABLE VIA ROSEBERYS LIVE ONLY. ALL BIDDING ON THIS LOT IS SUBJECT TO A DEPOSIT WHICH MUST BE MADE BY 1700 GMT ON 8th NOVEMBER. CONTACT CLIENT SERVICES FOR MORE INFORMATION AND TO REGISTER TO BID 此拍品接受在线,电话以及委托竞拍。线上竞拍仅可通过本公司网络竞拍系统 若想竞拍此件拍品,须于(英国时间)11月8日下午17.00前缴纳保证金 更多信息及注册号牌事项请联系公司客服 A large Chinese porcelain Ming style blue & white moonflask, Qianlong period, painted with flowering lotus blossoms amongst scrolling leafy stems encircling a central boss decorated with a flower head, all within a thin band of crashing waves, the sides painted with sinuous chilong, standing on a slightly-spreading rectangular foot decorated with scrolling clouds, the neck with moulded scroll handles, 48cm high Provenance: Maurice Collis (1889-1973) collection Note: Qianlong moonflasks of this type are based on Ming dynasty prototypes which had one decorated side and one flat unglazed side. These in turn were inspired by early Persian drinking vessels traded along the Silk Road. Due to the sheer size and shape of these Qianlong vessels, many collapsed in the kiln and were discarded or destroyed. The present example thankfully survived the rigorous quality control at the Jingdezhen kilns despite having slumped in the kiln during the firing process.
