Taino wooden cohoba scoop with full figure bird handle. The long legs and beak suggest this may be a shore bird. Scoops this size were likely used at large regional gatherings where liberal amounts of cohoba were consumed. Birds were symbolic representatives of cohoba rituals as it was believed they guided the intoxicated through the cosmos. It also comes with a custom mount.
