PRE-WAR COLT SAA WITH LETTER (1917)
SERIAL 335586 BARREL 4 3/4". CALIBER .38-40. Factory letter states this gun was shipped as a blue 38 with 4 3/4" barrel to Charles Lifield & co. in Albuquerque & Las Vegas New Mexico on March 28, 1917. It once rested in the Wendell Curry collection in McAllen Texas as listed in a 1996 sales brochure. It was nickel plated at one time and still retains nearly 95% of that finish. All legends are still visible. It now sports a set of real stag grips. The drag line is fairly pronounced. The action and lock up are fine. The bore is strong with some light frosting. Nice old cowboy gun that saw use in Southwest. C&R
