PRESSED ACANTHUS LEAF WHALE OIL / FLUID STAND LAMP, translucent jade green (reacts under black light) above alabaster/clambroth with lightly sanded surfaces, small size, dome-top font with 12 protruding petals below the shoulder and a short hexagonal extension with 12 beads below, raised on a 12-petal-top acanthus leaf standard and double-step square base beaded between the steps, wafer construction, fine-line brass collar. Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. and others. 1840-1860.
Condition: Large crack running from the base and into the standard, one base petal having a horizontal crack, some scattered chipping to the base corners.
Size: 11 1/4" H, 4" SQ base.
