A JADE ‘RICE-GRAIN’ PATTERN AND ‘FU SHOU’ TWO-HANDLED CUP
China, Ming Dynasty, 16th-17th century
The cup is flanked on the sides by a pair of chi dragon handles, and the body is carved with rows of bosses, each side is centred by an ideogram, a Fu (福) and a Shou (壽) . The stone is of white colour.
H: 3 cm – w: 12,1 cm
Weight: 92,5 grams
Provenance: An important collection of jade carvings, mostly Ming libation cups, properties from a French private collector, assembled over 20 years, pieces either bought privately or at public auction.
