A WHITE JADE ‘LISHUI WAVES AND MOUNTAIN PEAK’ TWO-HANDLED CUP
China, Ming Dynasty, 16th-17th century
The cup, of baluster round shape, is flanked on the sides by a pair of chi dragons handles, the body is continuously carved in low-relief with crashing lishui waves and mountains peaks as well as with a four-character auspicious charm, two on each side.

Weight: 147,3 grams
Provenance: An important collection of jade carvings, mostly Ming libation cups, properties from a French private collector, assembled over 20 years, pieces either bought privately or at public auction.
