Pair of two (2) Japanese bronze temple / foo lions or dogs seated on hind legs with partially articulated tails, one with mouth open and the other closed. 13" H x 16 3/8" W x 7" D. Meiji period, late 19th century.
Deaccessioned by the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts Foundation to benefit the acquisitions fund.
Condition Report: Both with minor surface oxidation and minute scratches; each with a loss to tip of whisker below the mouth.
