Pair of Mid-20th Century Sterling Silver Salts Circa. 1940 American

Pair of Crichton & Co. Ltd. NY circular salts. Crichton was established by Lionel Alfred Crichton in London and opened branches in London, NY and Chicago. The shops closed in the late 1950's Crichton & Co. was one of the finest silversmiths in the world.

These are in particularly wonderful condition (pristine) and are extraordinarily heavy - 5.22 troy ounces. The top rim measures a full 1/8 inch in width. Each is 1 1/2 inches in height, 2 1/4 inch diameter at top and 1 3/4 inch diameter at bottom. Marked "Crichton & Co. Ltd. NY Sterling" on bottoms A wonderful pair!
