Pair of Patinated Bronze Foo Dogs
Pair of Patinated Bronze Foo Dogs
late 19th century, the bodies with chased designs and encrusted with glass mosaic decor, with rock crystal eyes and breastplates.
h. 33", w. 11", l. 26"
Condition Report: **Some of the inlaid glass sections are lacking on the dogs' bodies; a few others are cracked and are partially lacking glass elements. One forearm has a soldered repair, probably from a casting crack that opened up. Bronze elements have a few innate casting cracks and a few separation cracks at seams. Both examples exhibit light scuffs, accretions and oxidation - all of which is to be expected with age and material. Structurally sound with excellent patina. In overall good condition.
