Pair of Sevres Style Gilt Spelter Mounted Covered Garniture Vases, 19th c., of tapered form in heavenly blue with gilt decoration, the sides with swirled floral painted rows, to a socle support, on a gilt square base with eight feet, H.- 18 3/4 in., Dia.- 5 in. Provenance: Palmira, the Estate of Sarkis Kaltakdjian (Sarkis Oriental Rugs), Prairieville, Louisiana.
Condition Report: Vase 1- Loss to gold painted elements below metal band, one ¼ in. chip behind second beaded band, los of 3 gold painted rose petals on body. Area of corrosion between body and stem of base. Vase 2- Loss to gold painted elements below top metal band, loss of 1 gold painted rose petal on body and 2 minor chips to the paint of roses.
