Pair of Thangkas of Guardian Kings, 18th C. or Earlier
A pair of thangkas on linen depicting the Four Guardian Kings, otherwise known as the Direction Guardians, and dating from the 18th century or earlier. Two of these Buddhist guardians are painted onto each panel. Surrounding the guardians are swirling clouds and small attendants creating a celestial space. The paintings are dark with gilt accents.
Dimensions: 23 inches tall X 30 inches wide; 58.4 cm tall X 76.2 cm wide. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: Some mold spots and discoloration, but are intact.
