An impressive work by Kano Hakuen, beautiful sumi-e painting with color water droplets, skillfully drawn leaping carps, with stunning synergy of both paintings. Kano Hakuen (1642-1726) , of the Kano school, served as a painter for the 5th lord of the Kaga domain, Tsunanori Maeda, and worked on the decoration of Nikko Toshogu Shrine and the production of folding screen paintings sent to Korea. Including inscribed tomobako. Roller ends: bone. Measurements: Scroll: 180 x 50 cm Picture: 90,5 x 36 cm Very good condition, there are signs of wear due to age and use, scratches, marks, stains; please, see pictures for actual condition.
