Two pairs of 14ct. gold knitting needle guards. The guards on the left of the photo are made in The Netherlands around 1860-1880. The chased scroll top and round, fluted tapering shape is very decorative. Dutch assay mark for 14ct. gold 1853-1905. L = 5. 8cm each. The guards on the right are possibly made in Germany around 1860-1880, have a finely etched design and are fastened to the original green silk ribbon. L = 4. 5cm each (without ribbon) . Marked 585 (14ct. gold) . Total weight 16. 0g. Both sets are in excellent condition and would enhance every sewing tool collection. Careful packing will ensure a safe delivery.
