Before us is an important and magnificent early edition of the Tana"ch, which was printed in large, vowelized letters, with cantillation, and with illustrated title pages bearing writing in Hebrew and in Latin. The Tana"ch was printed in the capital city, "Paris, the great city and mother in France," by Robertus Stephanus, who was nicknamed "The King's Printer." A few years later, Carlos Stephanus reprinted this Tana"ch. Before us is the larger, earlier format.
