Parthian Fresco of an Archer
3rd century BC-2nd century AD. A fresco fragment depicting an archer in an ankle-length striped robe with conical cap or helmet, bow over the shoulder and baton in the left hand; object at his feet, possibly a saddle(?"). 10 kg, 41cm (16"). From the private collection of a Canadian gentleman living in London; acquired circa 1984 and subsequently cleaned and mounted in a plaster matrix by Martin Foster around 1994.
