Parthian Silver Footed Bowl
1st century BC-1st century AD. A heavy silver bowl with tapering body, subtly everted rim and basal foot, raised, slender gadrooning around the lower half of the body, creating a step to the plain neck, concentric rings to the internal face. Cf. The Brooklyn Museum, accession number 54.50.37, for similar. 587 grams, 19cm (7 1/2"). From an important London collection; acquired on the UK art market 1971-1974; this lot has been checked against the Interpol Database of stolen works of art and is accompanied by AIAD certificate number no.10897-180800.
