Reference 1598 by Patek Philippe is one of the most elusive time-only watches to find, and the present example is, to the best of our knowledge, only the second example to appear in an auction. This very example has a yellow-gold case whose peculiarity is the fancy lugs with their absolutely particular and unusual shape. Fully well preserved, this 1598 presents a silvered dial with applied yellow-gold Arabic and baton numerals with seconds at 6. A pink-gold version with salmon dial has been sold by Monaco Legend Group in July 2019. Accompanied by a Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in yellow gold in 1946 and its subsequent sale on 17th August 1946.
