Condition Report:
The movement is in working condition at the time of cataloguing. All functions are working properly. The dial is very nicely preserved. There are three minor indentation in the 30 minute register close to the hand. There is a minor area of slight discolouration in the moon phases subsidiary dial. Overall the dial is really very nice. The case with light surface wear that is consistent with the age of the watch. The lugs retain full proportions and are nice and thick. The crown is original. The case remains two very crisp hallmarks that are very easy to see. One in the band at 8 o'clock and a second underneath the lug. The case back with only very light wear. This 1518 has been sleeping in the same important private collection since it was sold at auction from the son of the original owner 10 years ago. This example has been retained in very original and very good condition.

Please note that the movement has not been tested for the accuracy of time and may need a service at the buyer's expense. Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement and we do not guarantee the authenticity of any individual component parts since subsequent repairs and restoration work may have resulted in the replacement of original parts.

Furthermore, the watch may not come with its original manufacturers strap or band.
