Pausania Table Lamp by Ettore Sottsass for Artemide

A vintage green, black, and chrome "Pausania" table or desk lamp by Ettore Sottsass for Artemide. Designed in 1982, the Pausania evokes the classic green glass banker's lamp and has become an icon of 20th Century, Postmodern, and Italian design. Sottsass, one of the founders of the Memphis Milano Group, shows his multi-disciplinary training as a designer and architect on this masterpiece. It is included in the permanent design collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
In excellent vintage condition with almost zero wear. Label has been removed from underside, although remnants remain. Black plastic base and shade, chromed metal vertical columns as supports and, perforated chromed sheet metal shade. On/off switch is on the base.
