Peugeot - 404 Stationcar De Luxe Familiale 7 P. - 1963

UNIQUE CAR! PEUGEOT 404 STATION WAGON DE LUXE FAMILIALE 7 PERSONNES 1963! Peugeot achieved great success in the 1960s, the Peugeot 404 Familiale with 3 rows of seats was ideal for large families. The large station wagon with three rows of seats can accommodated seven people. The safe driving characteristics and comfort are due to the relatively advanced rear axle: a cardan shaft tube with integrated crankshaft plus transversely placed wishbones capture longitudinal movements. A Panhard rod provides stability in transverse direction. The screw springs only provide suspension and do not have a load-bearing function. You would have to pull the flat steering wheel very hard to make the car slide sideways. The sound insulation of the Peugeot was phenomenal, all 404 drivers fifty years ago were full of praise for the excellent driving comfort on long journeys. The 404 Familiale has flexibility as an extra advantage. At a time when station wagons were mainly used commercially, Peugeot seduced its customers with a beautiful design, five doors and an extra rear seat. Some details stand out. Designed by Pininfarina, the Peugeot has some surprising, unconventional ideas. For example, the light switch is on the left of the steering wheel and the indicator on the right. The horn has two settings: press softly for a civilized sound or hard to make a two-tone sound. The bumpers and hubcaps are made of stainless steel. The car drives and shifts well! The paintwork on the outside needs some attention in places, see photos. Complete documentation, active, original Dutch registration. Transporting seven people in a Peugeot 404 Familiale seems like a good idea, but it can turn out wrong. We learned that from the French film Le coup du parapluie from 1980. A Peugeot 404 Familiale, packed with bathers and a rubber dinghy on the roof, is shot at by a sniper. Fear not, it's a comedy! The bullet hits the dinghy; in the next scene it lies draped over the windscreen and side windows, deflated and shapeless. The driver can't see anymore, the car gets off the road and rolls down a hill. What follows is a meter-high jump over a street and a shop, which ends with a safe landing on the beach. World shipping available at good rates!
