Plate from the series "Venationes Ferarum, Avium, Piscium", a magnificent series of 104 large hunting prints, including falconry, fishing and even bee-keeping, engraved in the years 1578 to ca. 1596 by Philip Galle and others associated with him.

The print shows in the foreground a large boar surrounded by men with spears and attacked by dogs; on the left, a boar is speared; beyond, a boar chase is in progress.
