Phoenician Glass Necklace w/ Blue & White Eye Beads

Ancient Eastern Mediterranean, Phoenicia, ca. 6th to 4th century BCE. A stunning necklace of a wearable form that is constructed with dozens of opaque white glass beads that are decorated with distinctive cobalt-blue 'eyes.' The beads range in size from petite to quite large and in discoid, spherical, and barrel shapes, and one bead has its eyes protruding from its surfaces rather than being integral with the white bodies. Strung in modern times and fastened with a silver-plated loop and lobster clasp combo, this is an exquisite necklace that is sure to accentuate any outfit!
