Pictorial Embroidery on Silk with Initials "CD," Mary Balch's School, Providence, Rhode Island, dated "1800," designed as swags adorned with moths joining small bouquets and tied with ribbon, above a bowl of fruit on a marble plinth, and further bouquets and swags below flanked by cornucopias, in an eglomise mat and ropetwist-decorated molded gilt-gesso frame, overall 18 x 19 in.
