Porsche - 356A - 1958

[ translate ]

This Porsche was bought about 25 years ago by the current one from the president of the Belgian Porsche 356 club. The Porsche then had a nut and bolt restoration by the famous 356 restorer Siemerink in IJmuiden (the Netherlands) . The engine was taken care of by the first mechanic of Ben Pon's racing team, Karel Oudewortel. The 356 was built in 1958 but was registered in 1959. The Porsche was thoroughly checked after every summer season and maintained when necessary, it was then stored in our heated garage. Of course we let the engine run occasionally, in order to keep it in excellent condition. The car is in very nice used condition. The paintwork is still very good with slight wear, especially on the nose. The body has a neat fit and closes well. The red interior is still very neat with patina. The bottom is in good condition. The only major change we made at the time was to replace the front drum brakes with disc brakes, this was done to increase safety (unfortunately, many 356s crashed in the past because of small drum brakes) . The Solex carburettors were also replaced by better ones from Webers. The Porsche was maintained by garage Piessens in Antwerp, a specialist in classic Porsches. Extras: - Two stopwatches with Porsche emblem - Original Blaupunkt radio running on lights - Top cover - Louvres on engine cover - Porsche ANSA stainless steel sports exhaust - Mooncaps - Charger for the 6V battery. - Connection for 12V navigation. - Connection for Tripmaster. - Special wrench made to tighten or loosen the rear spark plug. - Extensive tools, extra throttle cable, spark plugs, etc. The Porsche took part in almost all 356 Porsche meetings in Europe, local rallies and tours in Belgium and the Netherlands. In order to avoid problems afterwards, we recommend viewing the Porsche in advance, this can be done in Brasschaat, Belgium (near Antwerp) .
