Condition Report:
The panel support consists of three planks joined vertically, and is flat, stable, and cradled on the reverse. The portrait image reads well beneath clear varnish. The panel joins are slightly visible to the naked eye but not distracting. A small area of abrasion/scuffing is visible at the center of the top edge. No retouching or repairs are obvious to the naked eye. Under UV inspection, a spot of retouching is visible at the top center edge, as well as thin lines along the panel joins, and a few tiny dots around the edges of the sitter's face. An earlier campaign of retouching is barely visible beneath the varnish, such as in the left lower area of her skirt. The painting is in overall good condition and can hang in its present state. Offered in a simply carved giltwood frame.
