Post medieval Bronze Absolutely Intact Zoomorphic Padlock shaped as a Horse. In exceptional condition with entrance for the key (key is missing) at the chest of the horse and the loking system and elements very well preserved. Probably inspired from the famous Trojan Horse the zoomorphic padlocks especially horses were beloved in the post-medieval period when the interest of the classical ancient time revived again. Lovely smooth natural dark patina. Rare in this condition. Size: 4,5cm. Purchased by the current owner in 2014 in Austria, Wien. Collected Since: 1960's.
