East Greek, late Archaic to Classical period, ca. 5th to 4th century BCE. A pair of fantastic, large, loop-shaped 80% gold earrings (equivalent to 18K+), each comprised of gold sheet with its surface studded with dozens of small applied gold granules, evenly spaced in rows, giving them a studded appearance. Strips of applied wirework divide each loop into fourths horizontally. A really unique pair, each with remarkable craftsmanship! Size: 1.55" W (3.9 cm); 80% gold (equivalent to 18K+); total weight of both: 29.6 g

Condition Report: One is in excellent condition. The other is slightly bent at its center with a small fissure in the gold sheet. A few of the applied gold granules have been lost. Both have light encrustations on their surfaces. Could be made wearable by a professional jeweler.
