Purvis Young (American, 1943–2010) Mixed Media on Masonite
20th Cent, USA
This is an original mixed-media painting by celebrated Miami outsider artist Purvis Young. The work features his signature fluid, calligraphic figures rendered on paper and mounted to a board. Reflecting his use of salvaged materials, the piece is uniquely bordered with discarded green and yellow carpet scraps that serve as a makeshift frame. Signed "Young" on upper center of image.
