RABBI DOV BERISH MEISELS, RABBI OF KRAKOW AND WARSAW, INTERESTING SIGNED MANUSCRIPT LETTER ADDRESSED TO HIS MECHUTAN R. ALEXANDER SENDER LANDAU OF BRODY, REGARDING THE WEDDING OF THEIR CHILDREN.

Letter dated 1843, when Rabbi Meisels served as Rabbi of Krakow, discussing plans for the forthcoming wedding, payment of the dowry etc.
Letters by Rabbi Dov Berish Meisels are very scarce.

Rabbi Dov Berish Meisels (1798-1870), son of Rabbi Yitzchak – author of Chosen Yeshuos, Rabbi of Krakow (1832) and Warsaw (1857). Greatly admired and respected rabbinical leader, who intervened successfully with the authorities on numerous occasions on behalf of Polish Jewish individuals and communities. Author of Chidushei Mahardam.
