RARE CASED COLT POCKET MODEL 1865 REVOLVER

[ translate ]

SERIAL 3456. BARREL 5.5". BORE .36 PERCUSSION. Less than 22,000 made and it is believed that most were made into so called conversions. It is one of the harder to find Colt percussion revolvers. It was made to shoot the more powerful .36 Navy round in the .31 size frame. This is one of the nicest known examples of this rare revolver to survive. The barrel retains at least 85% of the original high polish blue with sharp New York address. The cylinder is rebated but still sports the stage coach cylinder scene which is 100% bold and retains at least 75% original factory blue. The frame and lever still show case colors. All of the screws are still true and for the most part, unmolested. The brass trigger guard and back strap have toned with time. The one piece varnished walnut grips are proud to metal and retain nearly all of their original finish. The bore is near mint, sharp and shiny. The action is tight as new. This little used revolver comes in its original English style lined case with an original brass Colt flask, Colt marked iron two cavity mold , Colt cap tin and a box of 5 combustible New Model Revolving Pocket Pistol cartridges. Superb and rare. A
