RARE EARLY AMERICAN PILLOW POMMEL INFANTRY SABER BY
Slightly curved blade with wide shallow fuller and narrow partial fuller above, left side of blade ricasso stamped "ROSE". Brass hilt with pierced D-shaped counterguard on right side. Knuckle bow with a single ball. Early brass pillow pommel with capstan. Rectangular grip of fluted ebony. This pattern with marked "ROSE" blade is extremely scarce. CONDITION: Blade retains a grey patina with scattered areas of darker patina, marking is excellent. Hilt retains a mellow mustard patina and grip is very good with an age crack running along the left side. DMG. PROVENANCE: From the Collection of George M.
