ROLEX EXPLORER REF. 1016 "FROG FOOT" MK I DIAL, CIRCA 1967
Case: signed, n. 1735061, three body in stainless steel, screw back stamped 1016, Twinlock crown.
Bracelet/Strap: Rolex Oyster in steel bracelet ref. 7836, deployant clasp ref. 93153 stamped O8 (1990), end-link 58.
Dial: signed, black, luminescent indexes, minute/second divisions, skeletonized hands, centre seconds.
Movement: signed, self-winding cal. 1570, 26 jewels, rhodium-plated, monometallic balance with Microstella screws adjusted to temperature and five positions, blued Breguet hairspring.
Diameter Ø: 36 mm

Rolex introduced the new reference 1016 in 1959, and which remained in production until 1989. The present Explorer is distinguished by the dial renamed "Frog Foot", an appellation due to the particular shape of the coronet. In addition to this, the indexes are characterized by the fat lume compound, a peculiarity visible in the models with serial numbers from 1.5 up to 1.7xxxxx.
