Rachel Davis:

Rachel Davis is a local contemporary artist who works from her home studio in Hampshire. She is also the proud parent of a Mary Hare pupil. Rachel studied art at the Kent Institute of Art & Design before embarking on a career in account management for a graphic design agency. A career break became a permanent break when two children came along and Rachel has been painting for a living ever since. Anyone visiting Basingstoke's Festival Place will receive a warm welcome if they visit her in the pop up art gallery "THAT Gallery" which she has also co curated for the past four years. Readers of House & Garden magazine may have spotted her work this spring in the Art Edit or you may have seen it at the recent Contemporary Art Fair in Newbury. Rachel works mostly in acrylic and oil paint and loves to explore colour and surface texture. She draws her inspiration from nature and the world around her intertwined with memories, music or poetry. Her work has travelled about and clients can now be found in Finland, Denmark, Spain, Majorca, Australia and America.
